Using Your Health Savings Accounts Before the End of the Year
As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to remind our patients about reviewing their health spending accounts. These accounts, which put aside pre-tax money to pay for eligible medical and dental expenses are known as Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs), Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). They can be great cost-savings tools as you can use them to reimburse yourself for eligible dental care expenses.
More and more research demonstrates the important link between healthy mouths and healthy bodies. Today more people are understanding that proper dental hygiene plays an important role in preventative maintenance and overall health awareness. In fact, a recent survey found that 95% of U.S. adults responded that they wanted to be better about keeping their mouths healthy.
If you have one of these heath spending accounts, you may want to consider using any available balance before the end of the year for dental treatment you currently need, or treatment you may have delayed due to Covid-19.
By using your HSA, you can stay on top of your dental checkups, and address problems before they become serious enough to affect your entire body.
